Was brought by Universal Music Group’s global CEO Mr Max Hole to turnaround a long time dormant UMG arm in India in 2008.
Brought in by the MD of 9X Media, Mr Pradeep Guha to create new disruptive music content, a new music label SpotLampe, brand partnerships and new revenue streams for primary channels of the network.
Brought in by the Ex President of The Times of India Group, Mr Arun Arora to launch Times Music. Was core management team and led its content for ten years, firmly positioning it as a leader in its space.
Started the new talent acquisitions division for the Star TV Network that totally turn around the way its prime channels, Star Plus, Channel V, Star Sports and Life OK would create new disruptive content and hunt down actors , writers and musicians for its prime channels.

Audioboom head quartered in London, is a spoken word news and entertainment platform. Consulted with them in creating Indian content, media partnerships across entertainment and operations to set up its Indian arm in 2015. Led business development and media partnerships across radio, newspapers, digital platforms and celebrities.

Responsibilities here included creating disruptive content in music and bringing in new and established talent to the network, actors, writers, musicians from India and beyond. I worked closely with all prime channels of the network.

Actively worked with the UMG London headquarters in London, to restructure the content arm of the India office, its content development and acquisitions. Within a few months, established Universal in India as one of the most proactive players in launching new talent, creating new edgy content, multiple alliances and setting up new content markets in Punjab and Bengal.

Created from scratch a very innovative and successful music label that went on to lead the country in mainstream clutter breaking commercial and niche music, globally , across multiple genres. Radically changed the way spiritual music was heard and perceived. Created a massive global market for its music with multiple global licensing deals and led the company for ten years at its global representation at Midem, Cannes. Created and led massively super successful IPs like The War of DJs for nearly a decade.
Partnered with the groups’ multiple properties like Filmfare awards, Femina Miss India contest, Zoom & Radio Mirchi to maximise potential and growth.
AMITABH BACHCHAN CORPORATION LIMITED.

Big B was the music arm of ABCL which went on to release super successful film and non film music. Worked with Mr Bachchan closely on prominent projects and was the content curator for the Miss World contest brought into India for the very first time in 1996 by ABCL.

Worked on all aspects of movie and music production and its marketing. Am responsible for spearheading and leading to success, some of the country’s biggest musical hits in my tenure there.

Bachelor of Commerce from the Mumbai University.
Diploma in Media and Communications from Xaviers Institute, Mumbai. Degree in Interior Designing from L.S. Raheja college of Architecture, Mumbai.
18 years of work-experience in Corporate Strategy, Business Planning, Consumer Insights & Analytics across industries in marquee organizations.
As a part of the top management team in South Asia, shaped strategy and drove key business decisions in the entrepreneurial initiatives of Discovery Network in India.
Recommended the strategy for Discovery Kids’ channel (DKids) relaunch which zoomed ~500% since then. Created and executing strategic plan for further growth of DKids and DTamil Channel.
Pioneered the use of Data Analytics in Star TV Network as a means for identifying key opportunity areas for organic growth and cutting costs. Recommended (1) strategy to increase the network share by plugging-in consumer and content whitespaces, (2) strategy to increase rural penetration (new channel) and (3) closure of Channel V as a Youth Entertainment Channel.
Conceptualized cloud-based database as a first step towards big data platform that aimed to integrate various data sources for better measurement (viewership), content feedback and advertiser metrics in addition to reducing data extraction time by 90%. Led the creation of mobile app for bringing all this data graphically to everyone’s fingertip for quick decision making across functions.
As a part of Chairman’s office at RIL, program managed the Strategy & execution for Content acquisition for Jio.
At Times Internet, evaluated business plans, recommended cost saving (USD 10 Mn) and value creation measures (Additional revenue ~ USD 5 Mn) that included rejig of Auto (Zigwheels) and shutting down of unprofitable businesses –Email and Shopping. Evaluated multiple potential equity investments. Was a founding member of TLabs, a mentorship based Startup Accelerator by Times Group. Closed funding for 10 startups in Batch 1 & 2.
